Hello everyone....sooooo did ya see the newly released MILK CARTON templates? It has been in the works for quite some time and I am happy that it is finally done. These MILK CARTON templates can be used for so many different occasion with all of different cutout windows. Let's see we have the:
PLAIN MILK CARTON SET....let your creative juices run wild using this plain milk carton with some fabulous designer paper. I can just see it, maybe creating it out of some floral paper and then filling it up with handmade flowers. Here is my little take on it.
Of course there isn't any MILK in it, I just couldn't resist adding that title....I was actually going to put Malt Balls in it, but they melted on me. So I just got a little baggie (from Stampin Up) and added some Almonds in it....I will give it to my daughter later...She loves Almonds and I just thought the Strawberry was cute...The swiss dot paper is by Doodlebug.
AND then there is the HALLOWEEN - FALL MILK CARTONS...With all the spooky, fun scrapbooking paper out there, these would be perfect for favors at a Halloween party. Also the cutout with the leaf is perfect to cut out in some Fall type papers and add to your Thanksgiving table at Thanksgiving time....oooo fun, I can think of a few things to add in the carton at Thanksgiving time...hum maybe some notes as to why I am so thankful for the person I am giving the carton to....Here is my little take on it..
Next we have the ASSORTED SHAPES MILK CARTON...fun fun fun....three 0f the cutout windows in this set I can see myself using the most...the heart for Valentine's Day, the cake for birthdays and the apple for teachers...I love making teacher gifts...here is my little take using the apple...
And finally is the CHRISTMAS SHAPES MILK CARTON....this I am sure will be one of my favorites. You can fill with Candy Canes, a small Christmas Bulb, Christmas socks....the list goes on..here is my take on this set...instead of putting a clear transparency in the window of the box, I added some glitter paper.
Before I talk about those DASHES in svg files I can't talk about a certain set without a little giveaway....soooooo leave me a comment on this post telling me which Milk Carton you like and I will randomly draw one name to receive a $10.00 gift certificate to spend at The Cutting Cafe. I will choose the winner this coming Saturday.
Okay on to those DASH lines in some SVG FILES...When I first decided to offer all of the Cafe files in SVG format I asked around if adding the dash lines to the cutting files was a good thing or not...Many said yes and a few said no. They just plain o HATE those dash lines and I was also told that the dash lines made a regular cut instead of a dash. So I had basically decided a while back not to add the dash lines at all. There are a few Cafe files though that have like a little short dash here and there for ease in knowing where to fold - score but for the most part I have not added any dashes to the SVG files. I was told that people could just look at the PDF file to see where to fold - score. Well I got to thinking with the recent release of the MILK CARTONS, while you can pretty much tell where to score - fold the lines in these cartons, it is literally impossible to really tell how to score at the top that looks like a triangle....so with these MILK CARTONS you will see that I added ALL of the dash lines.
If you don't like the dash lines, there is a way to remove some or even all of them..
While your in the MTC (MAKE THE CUT) software, after you have opened the file do the following:
1. Select the entire file (if it isn't already selected)
2. Hit CTRL B on your keyboard...(this breaks up the entire file)
3. Then draw an imaginary box around the dashes you don't want to cut and hit delete.
No need to worry if you decide that you really wanted the dashes to stay, cause you can always reopen the original file and the dashes will be there.
Unfortunately I am not quite sure how it works with SCAL (SURE CUTS ALOT) if you want to remove the dash lines...maybe someone can leave a comment as to how to do this.
So does this mean that all of the SVG files will now always have all the dashes on them, well I haven't really decided yet, but if there is a cutting file that I believe is hard to see where to fold or score, yes these will have the dashes on them.
If you have any questions or need help, I am just a email away..(smile)
Don't forget to leave a comment to be in on the drawing for the $10.00 gift certificate....Hugs

This is a wonderful idea with so many uses. I think it would be a darling thing to make to put in my grandchildren lunch bags as a surprise for their first day back at school. A personal little note attached would make their day!
